By road

Car parking in central Bath is restricted as a result of the limited amount of space available. The information put together in this document should enable you to understand the options you have for parking in Bath and help you to decide on the best solution for you.

  • In the first instance we recommend that you do not come to Bath by car. As you can tell from the information above, we are very close to the bus and train station. Nowhere in Bath is more than a 20 minute walk away at a leisurely pace and bus services are very good. If public transportation is not an option for you, the following options exist:
  • There are two excellent public car parks very close to the guest house.  Manvers Street is ‘pay and display’ and Southgate is ‘pay on exit’ – both cost GBP12.50 for 24 hours.
  • We have a number of parking permits which we offer to guests for a fully refundable GBP50 cash deposit. These permits allow unrestricted use of on-street parking bays anywhere in the Central parking zone free of charge.
  • On-street parking is free every evening from 18.00 until 08.00 and all day on Sundays, in designated parking bays  and on single yellow lines.
  • For visitors who stay several days and will not need their vehicle during their visit, we can direct you to where parking is free, just outside the city centre parking zone. This will involve a pleasant fifteen minute walk back to the city centre.
